ABOUT THE CENTER
Offering an array of practical services and support, The Center for Business and Technology Development (The Center) functions as a one-stop resource for Howard County’s small business owners and entrepreneurs. For startups and established companies alike, The Center is dedicated to driving businesses to the next level of profitable growth. A network of corporate and government affiliations provide access to distinguished area technology leaders, along with plentiful opportunities to network and share ideas and resources with other innovators.
The Center also provides local entrepreneurial programs and education, connections with angel investors, and it is the hub of the regional, unified effort to acknowledge and support the science of Informatics. The Center has a vibrant history of supporting startup and entrepreneurial growth, resulting in a remarkable positive impact on our local economy. Its award-winning programs have helped numerous emerging companies accelerate their growth and develop into profitable businesses.
The Center for Business and Technology provides:
- Assistance to over 1,000 entrepreneurs annually through its Business Resource Center
- Facilities for up to twelve high-tech start-up companies in its NeoTech Incubator
- One-on-one counseling
- Networking groups
- Support services for small and minority owned businesses
- Meeting, conference and training facilities
- Business resource library with online internet access
- Seminars and workshops designed for entrepreneurs
- International trade assistance
- Access to funding sources
- In-house SCORE, SBDC, JREF and DBED offices
A unique hybrid, the facility comprises two key resources under one roof: The Business Resource Center and The NeoTech Incubator.
