Definition: A fee-based outreach program designed around the Incubator business development program that offers access to services but not the physical space enjoyed by Incubator clients. This program is available to small businesses within Howard County.

Purpose: To assist technology-based and technology service-related start-up businesses, small companies and home-based technical entrepreneurs through The Center’s business assistance programs. The applicant can enroll at different levels up to and including all
programs and procedures afforded the Center’s Incubator clients.

Goal: To expand The Center / Incubator programs to the Howard County technology– based small business community and thereby provide them assistance to help build a
profitable sustainable business.

Benefit: Access to the Center / Incubator programs has proven to minimize failure in
business start-ups and accelerate their growth.

Application: Affiliate will submit an application to participate in the Affiliate program and can choose from several levels. The Center / Incubator staff will review the application and, if acceptable, will admit Affiliate into The Center program. The term of the program is determined by the specific program and has review gates for evaluation and renewal.

Affiliate Basic: $600 per six months

The Affiliate shall have access to the shared resources at The Center / Incubator facility: conference rooms, office copier, fax machine, The Center’s address for receipt of mail, business library and audio / visual equipment. Access to these resources is governed by the same procedures for clients that reside within The Center / Incubator but is limited to a specific number of instances per defined period.

Affiliate Advanced: $1200 per six months

The Center / Incubator will provide the Affiliate with standard services by the staff or others as practical during the term of the active program. Such services may include but are not limited to: periodic progress reviews in line with The Center / Incubator Entrepreneurial
Development Program, assistance in updating the business plan, assistance in preparing a presentation for potential investors, access to business and technical advice from The Center / Incubator staff and volunteer advisor / mentors, referrals to service providers and participation in networking events. Affiliate Level Two clients support will be limited only by service given as a priority to resident NeoTech Incubator companies.
