Howard County’s Agricultural Land Preservation Board Seeks Members
ELLICOTT CITY, MD – County Executive Ken Ulman is currently seeking individuals, farmer or non-farmer, to serve on the Agricultural Land Preservation Board. Comprised of 7 members, Board members make recommendations to the County Executive on the acquisition of agricultural land preservation easements and review proposals concerning land subject to an agricultural land preservation easement.
To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be 18 years of age or older and be able to attend the Board’s meetings which are generally held the fourth Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Howard County Fairgrounds, 2210 Fairgrounds Road in West Friendship.
Applicants should send a resume and a brief letter explaining why they want to serve on the Board to: Howard County Government, Office of the County Executive, Attn: David Lee, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, MD 21043. The names of eligible applicants will be submitted to the County Executive for approval and then to the County Council for confirmation. The deadline to apply is Friday, July 26.
