TeamWorx Security, a software development company, has relocated to the Howard County Economic Development Authority’s (HCEDA) business incubator, the Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship (MCE).

TeamWorx Security delivers advanced technical solutions focusing on applying machine learning to advance the cyber situational awareness mission across the Department of Defense.

“We are excited to have TeamWorx Security join the Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship” says Howard County Economic Development CEO Larry Twele. “They are a perfect example of the innovation and hard work we see so frequently in Howard County. We are truly looking forward to helping them build their product and create big things.”

The MCE is a 26,000-sq. ft. business incubator run by the HCEDA in Columbia, MD. It is home to 23 resident companies and offers a menus client services for small businesses in the community.

The Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship’s inclusive co-working space was an attractive feature to TeamWorx Security. “When you walk in [to the facility] there’s a certain character present. You can just tell their startups thrive by being in close proximity to one another” says TeamWorx’s CEO Chris Anthony.

TeamWorx Security’s founding team developed the Mission Analysis and Research of Threat Intelligence (MARTI) while working at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab, but left APL to pursue a commercial version of MARTI called Hive-IQ.

“The Maryland Center of Entrepreneurship is home to some of Howard County’s most talented innovators and forward thinking entrepreneurs,” says Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman. “TeamWorx Security is an excellent addition to the community there and I look forward to watching them continue to grow in the years to come.”

TeamWorx Security employs four people and plans to add several more positions to the company over the next 12-months. They have received a VLT loan from the Howard County Economic Development Authority for further upscaling
