Red Alpha Establishes New Headquarters in Columbia Gateway

Wednesday, February 19, 2020

Red Alpha CEO Daniel Ra, CTO Dennis Park, and COO Tom Shelly were joined by Howard County Executive Calvin Ball and HCEDA CEO Larry Twele on February 13 to open the company’s new facility in Columbia. Expanding from their original Hanover location, the space in Columbia Gateway will serve as the new Red Alpha headquarters. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the group toured the 6,000-square-foot space, located at 6950 Columbia Gateway Drive.

“We’re very pleased to welcome Red Alpha to Howard County,” said Larry Twele. “Their move to Columbia Gateway is indicative of the county’s growing and thriving cybersecurity sector. Companies like Red Alpha are attracted to our county, where they can draw talent from a highly-educated workforce, access markets across the globe and, of course, enjoy an outstanding quality of life.”

With the move to Columbia, Red Alpha intends to build upon its strong brand to capture new opportunities in cyber intelligence, advanced data science, enterprise cloud computing, and data analytics. The company, which is SBA (8) certified, doubled in size during 2019 and anticipates adding as many as 30 new jobs this year, many through prime contracts.

“We are delighted and grateful to join the ranks of many high-performance companies in Howard County,” said Daniel Ra, who is now the sole owner of the company. “Our Red Alpha family and our customers love the location, the environment, and the momentum that is brewing through this expansion – as our members bring Digital Transformation to the Fight.”

Launched in 2010 by Daniel Ra and Dennis Park, Red Alpha will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year. The company’s mission is focused on its customers as well as its team members: “to provide the best possible expertise and support to ensure the success of customer goals; to deliver high-performance solutions that crush alternatives that are just ‘good enough’, and to create the best possible environment to allow its engineers to flourish.”
