HCEDA Vice President Receives Cyber Security Industry Honors

Howard County Economic Development Authority’s (HCEDA) Vice President of Cyber and Innovation, Patrick Wynn, was honored with the InfraGard Members Alliances (IMA) Leadership Award for the Southeast region this past weekend at the Annual Conference in Las Vegas.

Wynn, who is Vice President of the InfraGard Maryland Members Alliance (IMMA), was selected for demonstrating outstanding leadership, dedication and service while advancing the goals of the IMA and contributing to its success.

“I am humbled by the IMMA’s consideration and nomination of this recognition. I am thankful to the National InfraGard Awards Committee for selecting the good works our Maryland chapter has put forth, and of which, I am pleased to be a contributor,” said Wynn.

During the year, Wynn helped to recruit new members to the chapter, raise funds for the organization, and identify sponsors for events. Only IMA Directors or Officers are eligible for consideration for this award.

“Patrick has brought in an infusion of members, sponsors and new excitement to the chapter,” said Nagi Mei and John Ward, the Communications Chair and Treasurer for InfraGard Maryland Members Alliance in the nomination form. “Over the last year, Patrick was a catalyst in providing constituents with opportunities for success, putting talent and companies together, and encouraging interaction between the business, government, and academic worlds.”

InfraGard is a partnership between the FBI and the private sector. It is an association of persons who represent businesses, academic institutions, state and local law enforcement agencies, dedicated to sharing information and intelligence to prevent hostile acts against the United States.

“All of us at the HCEDA are proud of the recognition that Patrick received from his hard work with InfraGard,” said HCEDA CEO Lawrence Twele. “Patrick has used the connections made through InfraGard to elevate the profile of Howard County, create touchpoints with our local cyber businesses, and provide them with the resources and collaborations that are needed to grow a local economy. His work through this program has had a positive impact on the work we do in the local community every day.”

InfraGard consists of more than 80 IMAs across the country, with over 50,000 members. InfraGard has assigned each IMA to one of six geographic regions: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, North Central, South Central or Pacific. The IMMA is assigned to the Southeast region which consists of 16 IMA’s and is one of the ten largest InfraGrard Member Alliance Chapters in the United States with nearly 1,200 active members.
