MCE Alumni Company, Zentail, Celebrates $5M Series A Funding Round and Facility Ribbon Cutting

Friday, November 9, 2018

Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship (MCE) alumni company, Zentail, an e-commerce automations software operations platform, announced it has completed a $5 million Series A funding round led by Initialized Capital with participation from the FundersClub. Both added to their prior investments in Zentail’s series seed round, bringing Zentail’s total funding to $6.2 million.

Zentail received this Series A funding in its third year of operations to continue development of a platform to make e-commerce selling simple with software automation. Manual tasks including product listing, pricing, inventory, and order management are more easily facilitated through Zentail’s automation, and then are simultaneously synced to shopping channels. Zentail currently supports e-commerce channels such as Amazon, eBay, and Google Shopping.

“Our mission has always been to make e-commerce simple and is something we continually iterate on through our nimble platform as online shopping channels evolve and new channels emerge,” said Zentail CEO, Daniel Sugarman. “This Series A investment means we will be doubling down on our technical support and customer success programs to ensure every Zentail merchant has the greatest opportunity to grow faster than the industry.”

Having product data management at its core, Zentail’s ecosystem of integrated services has helped a growing number of online retailers and brands streamline their operations, track data, and grow sales through one central platform. By enabling online sellers to centralize and simplify operations through automation, Zentail aids their clients in gaining a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

“We are proud that Zentail chose the MCE during the early stage of their business,” said CEO of the HCEDA, Lawrence Twele. “We look forward to continuing to support companies like Zentail who wish to start their companies in Howard County. They are a great example for how keen talent and key business resources come together to grow.”
